The hurricane could possibly hit the area this weekend.
Hurricane Irene could possibly hit New York some time this weekend, according to a HuffPo report. The hurricane may hit North Carolina's Outer Banks on Saturday afternoon, then make its way up the East Coast, and weaken by the time it gets to Maine by Monday.
