Photo of the Day: Turtle Surveys Storm Damage
While traveling around town taking photos of trees, a turtle crossing the road caught the attention of Patch cameras.
While out-and-about capturing the images of the damage hurricane-turned-tropical storm Irene caused, from downed trees and power lines to debris from homes and more, one image stood out above the rest – a turtle.
This big guy was crossing Harbor Hill Road in St. James just in front of an uprooted tree, working his way back into the woods.
Editor's note: To ensure safety of the turtle from passing cars and trucks, I didn't leave until he made his way back into the woods.
