SMITHTOWN, NY — Darren Sardelli, a Smithtown native, author and poet, shared his writing experiences with Smithtown Elementary School students on Thursday, the school district announced.

Sardelli spoke with students from all grade levels and shared his experiences with writing poetry,
the writing process and publishing. He also shared some of his books and fun poems with students.
