Report: Former West Baseball Player to Suit Up for St. Louis University

First baseman Mike Vigliarolo of the West regular-season title winning team will play for the Billikens in 2012.

Former West first baseman Mike Vigliarolo will be wearing a Billikens jersey this upcoming season as he is one of seven players added to the St. Louis University roster, according to a slubillikens.com report.

Vigliarolo hit .450 with seven home runs for West and was a member of the 2009 squad that took home the regular-season title, a team that went 19-4. The first baseman was also an All-Conference selection and a New York All-County choice, according to the report.

Prior to being added to the Billikens roster, Vigliarolo played for North Broward Prep in Florida where he led the team to 22 wins in 2010 with a .453 batting average and 47 RBIs. He was also named as a 2010 All-Broward County second-team selection.

"Mike is a big, strong player who hits for power and will be a corner infielder for us … He has enjoyed a lot of success against high-level competition, and he played for the prestigious South Florida Bandits, one of the better summer clubs in the country … Not only does he have power, but he hits for a high average which is something you don't always see at the college level,” said Billikens coach Darin Hendrickson.
