Smithtown Company Partners With Maryland Prisons

America's Vet Dogs is working with inmates to train service dogs for wounded vets.

A Smithtown company, according to the Huffington Post, has teamed up with Maryland's prison agency to teach its inmates to train service dogs for wounded veterans.

America's Vet Dogs, a non-profit, provides guide dogs for wounded and disabled veterans, and the head of Maryland's Public Safety and Correctional Services division called the collaboration with the prison "one of the most significant restorative justice projects I have ever been involved with."
