Smithtown Notebook: Public Hearing Debates, Bids Approved for April and More
Here's a rundown of what took place at town hall this week in the Town of Smithtown.

Public Hearings for Monopole, Assisted Living Facility See Opposition, Debate
for a petition to replace an existing pole with a monopole and to install antennas and related telecommunications equipment for Site Tech Wireless at 85 Old Northport Road in Kings Park, as well as a hearing for Amber Court Realty for a Special Exemption for construction of an assisted living facility on Lake Avenue in Nesconset.
These two public hearings took place Thursday, March 24 at the Eugene A. Cannataro Smithtown Senior Citizen Center with much debate and opposition from numerous community members.

Special Events Correspondences were heard for 10 parades and run/walks at the Thursday, March 24 town board meeting at the Eugene A. Cannataro Smithtown Senior Citizen Center.
Second readings were heard Thursday on the Kings Park Youth Organization Opening Day Parade, American Legion Donald C. Munro Post 944 Memorial Day Parade, Knights of Columbus Memorial Day Parade, Smiles & Strides for Stefani 5K Walk/Run and 1K Fun Run and the Saint James Chamber of Commerce Halloween Costume Parade.
First readings were heard Thursday for the VFW Elwood Commack Post 9263 Memorial Day Parade, Ronkonkoma Rotary 5K Run Around and Fun Run, Smithtown Chamber of Commerce 5K Running of the Bull and 1K Fun Run, Leukemia/Lymphoma Society 5K Run/Walk and the Sgt. John W. Cooke VFW Post 395 Memorial Day Parade.
Bids Approved for April
The town board approved the following bids to be heard on April 14 βΒ clay for athletic fields, air conditioning service and repair, art & craft supplies and sporting goods. Bids approved for April 21 include concrete slab, furnish and install asphalt on various town roads, fire training simulator and compressed natural gas powered 10-wheel truck.
Upcoming Town Meetings
Meetings for March concluded Thursday, March 24, and will begin again on Tuesday, April 5 at 2 p.m. with the town board meeting at Town Hall.
