Smithtown Participates In Paige Keely Foundation Golf Classic

The event, held to raise funds for AVM, included golf, dinner, an auction, raffles, entertainment and special guest speakers.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Approximately 100 people showed their support for The Paige Keely Foundation on Monday by teeing it up at the second annual Paige Keely Foundation Golf Classic, the Smithtown School District announced.

The event, held at Nissequogue Golf Club, raised money for the foundation named after Paige Keely, who died in 2018 at the age of 6 from an undiagnosed brain arteriovenous malformation.

Paige was a first grader at St. James Elementary School.

The event included golf, dinner, an auction, raffles, entertainment and special guest speakers Dr. Sima Mofakham and Dr. Chuck Mikell, who represented the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University.

Mofakham and Mikell discussed how to identify and manage risk factors for brain hemorrhage and AVMs.
