Smithtown School Budget Preview For 2024-25

See what's on the ballot, including the school budget and school board candidates, before you head to the polls on Tuesday.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Smithtown residents are set to head to the polls on Tuesday, May 21.

The vote is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Voters will head to their assigned polling place: Smithtown Elementary, St. James Elementary, Nesconset Elementary Building, or Accompsett Elementary.

The Smithtown School District's proposed spending plan for the 2024-25 school year is $289,952,988. That's a 3.32 percent increase from the current budget. The tax levy is $219,406,721, or a 2.86 percent increase from last year's.

The school board has two open seats. Incumbent Stacy Ann Murphy is being challenged by Dana Fritch, while incumbent Karen Wontrobski-Ricciardi is being challenged by Emily Cianci.
