Smithtown Teacher Arrested for DWI After Striking Cop Car: Police
A teacher at Nesaquake Middle School was arrested on a DWI charge after he crashed into a police car Thursday night, Suffolk Police say.

HOLTSVILLE, NY – A teacher at Nesaquake Middle School was arrested on a DWI charge after he crashed into a police car Thursday night, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, 43-year-old Brian Eddington, of Medford, was driving a 2016 Dodge Ram north on Nichols Road when he crashed into the back of a police car at about 8:55 p.m.
A Fifth Precinct officer had responded to an earlier crash at the scene, and was inside his vehicle with the overhead lights illuminated, off the roadway, when the incident occurred.

The officer was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Eddington, a science teacher at Nesaquake Middle in St. James, was charged with DWI. He was held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Friday morning.
