VIDEO: Knox School Cuts Ribbon at New Cottage

The Knipe Cottage at The Knox School received a makeover that includes an addition, bringing the building to 8,000 square feet.

Starting the year off with more than just fresh new faces and a revived passion for learning, The Knox School in Nissequogue finished an addition and new design for the Knipe Cottage, the dorm for junior and senior girl students.

To celebrate the new facility, designed by Mark Mancini and Joe YacobellisΒ of Mancini Architecture, the school held a ribbon cutting ceremony with the George Allison, headmaster of the school, Assistant Headmaster Duncan Marshall, Board of Trustees member Eileen Reina, school staff and more.

The cottage was originally 1,500 square feet, but with the new addition the building now spans 8,000 square feet, and will be the home to 23 students as well as members of the faculty in new faculty apartments.
