Weekend Sports Scoreboard: Boys Soccer Squads Notch Victories

Fall sports are in full swing and Smithtown East and West was out on the fields this weekend. See below for our wrap-up of scores.

Smithtown East football fell to Walt Whitman in a close one over the weekend, 35-32, taking their first loss of the season. On the flipside, West notched its first victory of the season with a 35-0 victory at Copiague on Saturday. East fell to 3-1 while West improved to 1-3.

West will take on Walt Whitman Saturday at 4 p.m. for its homecoming game, while East will travel to Newfield, at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

On the soccer field, Smithtown West boys beat East Islip, 1-0, on Saturday, to improve to 3-3-1 and 3-1-1 in League III play. East boys beat Newfield, 4-2, on Saturday. The win brought the squad to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in league play.

Smithtown West girls lost to East Islip on the soccer field, 2-1, falling to 3-1 in League III play and 3-2-1 overall. East beat Centereach, 2-1, to win its second straight and improve to 1-3 in league and 3-4-1 overall.
