2nd Graders Give Thanks In Southampton

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — The smallest of children learned a big lesson about giving thanks reently.

The Southampton Elementary School hosted its annual second grade Thanksgiving gathering on Nov. 21. The event focused on family and community, with students performing songs, sharing a Thanksgiving poem and enjoying some tasty treats with their families, the district said.

Furing the event, representatives from the Shinnecock Indian Nation spoke about their traditions related to giving thanks, performed a traditional dance and song with students, and gave a blessing.
