3 Charged With Gang Assault After Hamptons Attack That Left 1 Injured: Police

The injured male was bleeding from a "severe cut" to his arm after the fight, which took place after he left a Southampton club, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A male was injured during a gang assault in Southampton, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place on Sunday, May 18 at about 2:31 a.m. Southampton Town police said they received a report about a male who had been involved in a fight in the vicinity of Tuckahoe Lane in Southampton after leaving the Ultra Club.

and Southampton Volunteer Ambulance responded, police said.

The victim was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Southampton Town police detectives responded to the scene to investigate; the detective division conducted an extensive investigation involving multiple interviews and review of evidence, police said.

Subsequently, two juveniles, aged 17 at the time of the incident, were both arrested and charged with second-degree gang assault, a felony; one juvenile was additionally charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, police said.

Names of juveniles are not released to the public, police said.

Additionally, David Castillo Reyes, 18, was arrested and charged with second-degree gang assault, a felony, police said.

All were processed at Southampton Town police headquarters, authorities said.
