Drunk Driver Caused CR 39 Crash That Left Multiple People Injured: PD
The crash on County Road 39 Thursday night brought traffic to a standstill for hours on a portion of the road, officials say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a multi-vehicle crash on County Road 39in Southampton Thursday night that resulted in multiple injuries — and brought traffic to a halt, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at about 10:37 p.m. on County Road 39 near Tuckahoe Road.
Dylan Flores, 25, was driving while intoxicated and lost control, causing a collision with multiple vehicles, police said.

Flores was subsequently arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI, police said. Flores was treated at Stony Brook University Hospital and later transported to Southampton Town police headquarters in Hampton Bays where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
A portion of County Road 39 was shut down in both directions Friday night after the rollover crash, which led to multiple injuries, officials said.

According to Chris Brenner, public information officer for the Southampton Fire Department, multiple patients were transported to three different hospitals; a medevac landed at Stony Brook University Southampton campus to transport two patients to Stony Brook University Hospital, he said.
As of midnight, County Road 39 remained totally closed both east and westbound from Tuckahoe Lane to St. Andrews Road.
Southampton Volunteer Ambulance, along with the Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance, were at the scene assisting with patient care, Brenner said.
