Heroic Efforts Saved Choking Student With Heimlich Maneuver
The East Quogue teachers and a student were honored for their heroic efforts to save a life recently.

EAST QUOGUE, NY — Heroism saved a student's life recently in East Quogue.
To honor those efforts, Southampton Town Deputy Supervisor Frank Zappone provided a proclamation to East Quogue Elementary School fourth grade teacher Linda O'Brien, special education teacher Jen Owens, and board of education trustee Brianna Gladding for their heroic efforts in recently saving a student from choking using the Heimlich maneuver.
In addition, the East Quogue Fire Department and the American Heart Association provided certificates for their efforts, along with student Cooper Gladding, who was instrumental in assisting his teachers.
