Man Charged With DWI After Water Mill Crash: PD

He hit a guard rail, police say.

WATER MILL, NY — A man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a Water Mill crash Thursday night, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the crash took place at about 10:25 p.m. in the vicinity of Flying Point Road and Burnetts Cove Road. Passing motorists reported that a motor vehicle had left the travel portion of the roadway and struck a guard rail, on which the vehicle came to rest, police said.

The driver, heading east on Flying Point Road, struck the guard rail, causing damage to the railing and the motor vehicle he was operating; no injuries were reported, police said.

Julien I. Marmur, 20, of New York, NY, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI, police said. Marmur was transported to Southampton Town Police headquarters, where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
