Man Charged With DWI Crashed Into Car At Hamptons Gas Station: Police

He was arrested Monday night, police say.

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — A Bridgehampton man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing into another vehicle at a gas station on Montauk Highway Monday evening, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the crash took place at about 6:58 p.m. at the Gulf gas station in Bridgehampton. Officers responded and determined that the driver of one of the vehicles, while intoxicated, struck another unoccupied motor vehicle while the owner of that car was filling it with gas, police said.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Matthew Larson, 65, of Bridgehampton, New York, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI and several traffic infractions, police said. Larson was transported to Southampton Town police headquarters, where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
