Man Facing Felony Charges After Using Credit Care Left At Business: PD
He was arrested after an investigation that spanned months, police say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY —A Hampton Bays man was arrested after using a credit card that had been left at a local business, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, on August 19, 2024, a report came in from someone who had left his credit card at the business earlier the same month. Since then, the card had been charged multiple times at multiple businesses in excess of $1,000, police said.
The Southampton Town Police Department's detective division initiated a months' long investigation into the various credit card charges, police said.

On Saturday, April 4, Jose Reyes Potrero, 34 was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony; and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, police said.
