Primary Results Are In For Southampton Town
See who will be running on the Working Families line in November.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Southampton Town residents headed to the polls on Tuesday to cast their votes in primaries for Working Families party seats.
In Southampton, one primary was waged on the Working Families line for the town clerk's position, with Peter Collins throwing his hat into the ring against Mark Bernardo, who is also running on the Democratic slate. Longtime incumbent Southampton Town Clerk Sundy Schermeyer is running on the GOP line.
A primary was also held on the Working Families Line for a Southampton Town board position; Candidates included Ieshia Galicia, Andrew Smith, and Tom Neely, who also ran on the Democratic line and has served as Southampton's longtime traffic safety director.

After the votes were tallied, according to unofficial results from the Suffolk County Board of Elections, in the race for the town clerk line, Peter Collins took the lead with 52.63 percent, or 10 votes; Bernardo garnered 47.37 percent, or 9 votes.
In the race to run for town board on the Working Families line, voters were able to choose two candidates: Galicia received 36.36 percent, or 12 votes, Neely garnered 33.33 percent, with 11 votes, and Smith received 30.30 percent, with 10 votes, in the close races, the BOE said.
