🌱 Southampton Daily: Habitat For Humanity Home + Ukraine Drive

Here are the top stories in Southampton today:

1. Habitat for Humanity Suffolk, along with the Southampton Housing Authority, will raise the walls on a new house in Riverside on Saturday for Christopher and Amanda who will see their dreams of home ownership realized. The wall raise will take place on Old Quogue Road at 9 a.m. "To be able to help build our home, to watch the process unfold and experience each moment together is a wonderful opportunity," Christopher said. 2. If home improvement is on your to-do list, then visiting Dan’s Papers Home & Garden Show, should also be on that list! The event will be held April 23 and 24 at Stony Brook University at Southampton. The event combines everything home and garden related and the opportunity to meet important business owners who are on-site to showcase their services and unique product offerings. (Dan's Papers)
   
3. A collection drive for the people of Ukraine is being held this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Westhampton Beach Fire Department, located at 92 Sunset Ave., Westhampton Beach. Items needed include new or lightly used clothing, personal hygiene items, diapers, toiletries, and first aid medical supplies. Everything collected that day will be handed over to the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Riverhead, which will arrange for transport to Ukraine. (Patch)
4. Six Suffolk County men facing multiple felony charges as alleged participants in a national dog-fighting ring. Deputies of the Carter County Sheriff’s Office arrested Nicholas Zane Loveless, 34, of Hampton, on Tuesday on a warrant charging him with three counts of cruelty to animals. Loveless pleaded guilty to all three counts of animal cruelty. (NewsKudo)
