Here are the top stories today in Southampton:
- Things to do in the Hamptons this week: March 18–23, 2022. St. Patrick's Day parades are still going on in the Hamptons as well as fun-family events. Check out what's happening this week. (Dan's Papers)
- The play, 'The Agitators,' through scenes depicting Susan B. Anthony and Fredrick Douglass' intimate conversations as both allies and enemies in the movement for women's suffrage, examines their friendship. The Long Island debut of the play, produced by the boots on the ground theater company, which performs historical theater and is the company in residency at the Southampton Cultural Center, will be staged at the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall in Riverhead the weekends of April 8-17. (RiverheadLOCAL)
- In an effort to bolster immunity among older Americans, "Pfizer and its coronavirus vaccine partner, BioNTech, have asked the Food and Drug Administration for emergency use authorization" for a second COVID-19 vaccine booster to increase the durability of their coronavirus vaccinations. Pfizer-BioNTech said the request for FDA authorization of a second booster is based on "real-world" data from studies in Israel, which is among a handful of countries that offer the second boosters to older people. (Patch)
- Long Island Suffolk Wainscott residents sue East Hampton Town to stop wind farm cable. In January, the East Hampton Town Board approved an agreement granting an easement to developers Orsted and Eversource to run a cable beneath a Wainscott beach and under town roads to a LIPA substation on Cove Hollow Road.
