1. Back for a second season, Habitat for Humanity Reuse Program resumes Wednesday, March 16 at the North Sea Transfer Station. Town residents are encouraged to drop off new or slightly used furniture, appliances, kitchen cabinets and building materials that will then be resold at the Suffolk ReStore in Ronkonkoma, with proceeds supporting affordable housing projects. 2. The Southampton Town 2022 Spring Cleanup will begin on Monday, April 18 and end Monday, May 23. Leaf bags and brush can be placed out starting April 11. All residents are reminded to use biodegradable paper bags as no plastic bags will be accepted. (Town Flyer)
3. Get your race on with a pop-up flight from LI MacArthur's Airport to the Kentucky Derby! The outgoing flight will leave May 5 and the return trip takes place on Sunday, May 8. The 148th annual Kentucky Derby will take place at Churchill Downs on Saturday, May 7. (Patch)
4. Christian Guardino, the legally blind singer from Patchogue, is heading to Hollywood after his "American Idol" season 20 audition ended with a standing ovation from the show's judges and a hug from Lionel Richie. Katy Perry added that Guardino had "a voice of gold." (Patch)
