- Across NYS, including Long Island, sacred burial grounds are under threat of development. Indian Nations on Long Island are imploring lawmakers through a petition to protect unmarked ancestral graves statewide. New York is one of three states that does not have protection against unmarked burials, the petition reads. "Tell NYS Lawmakers: Pass the Unmarked Burial Site Protection Act!" (Southampton Patch)
- On Friday, April 29, the Town of Southampton received a Certificate of Clean Energy Leadership by the Clean Energy Leadership Task Force and the Sustainability Institute at Molloy College. The award recognized the town's leadership in advancing Clean Energy on Long Island. (Website)
