  3. Monday morning, smoke was reported in a building at Southampton High School. Students were evacuated and the fire department investigated. The investigation is ongoing.(Southampton Patch)
  4. Sunday night, at 7:21 p.m., Humberto SebastianPedro, 41, a Flanders man, was observed failing to yield the right of way while turning onto Flanders Road in Flanders. SebastianPedro was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI and numerous traffic infractions.(Southampton Patch)
  5. It took the jury four hours to convict Leniz "La Diablita" Escobar in thedeaths of four young men in Central Islip on April 11, 2017. Prosecutors convinced the jury that Escobar was both "bait" that lured the young men into the park that day and the “mastermind” who helped plot the quadruple slaying. Escobar, 22, is facing life in prison for what police described as one of the most gruesome murders in Suffolk County’s history. (Subscription: Newsday)
