  1. Parents who lost a son in the Quogue crash that killed five people are advocating for change. The Kiess family is calling for safety improvements on the roadway where the crash happened and new legislation for wrongful death cases. (Patch)

  3. A Long Island jury's guilty verdict against drug manufacturer Teva Pharmaceuticals USA and its partners that distribute opioids made history. The jury said the companies were guilty of fueling the addiction epidemic. (Patch)
  4. On Friday, minimum wage workers in Westchester, Suffolk, and Nassau counties making minimum wage started getting $15 per hour. New York City has been at that benchmark for three years. (Daily Voice)
