Here are the top stories today in Southampton:

  1. The Southampton Union Free School District's budget passed by a landslide vote of 585 to 193. The $74,990,000 budget includes a spending increase of 1.34 percent and a 2.31 percent tax levy increase, below the tax levy cap. Voters also voted positively on propositions including a new administrative office, plus technology equipment and infrastructure upgrades. Germain L. Smith ran for one open seat to replace Michael G. Medio, he emerged the winner.(Southampton Patch)
  2. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest of two men who damaged and tried to steal an ATM in Speonk last month, police said. The incident happened at the ATM, located outside of Capital One Bank at 172 Montauk Highway, on April 11, authorities said. Anyone with information call 1-800-220-TIPS. (Southampton Patch)
  3. Matt Lauer, 64, NBC Disgraced former NBC anchor, has finally found a buyer his Hamptons mansion. The 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms house was built in 1902, the home known as Strongheart Manor had been fully renovated and restored. The contract price, however, is not yet available.
