- Southampton residence have had to endure the noise of landscapers throughout their summer weekdays and weekends; gas-powered leaf blowers are the most obtrusive."Southampton Town board voted Tuesday to green light a resolution that puts the brakes on gas-powered leaf blowers during the summer months. According to the legislation, sponsored by Southampton Town Councilman John Bouvier, there is a seasonal ban on the gas-powered leaf blowers from May 20 to Sept. 20." (Southampton Patch)
- The Northport VA could close its emergency room, shift medical and surgical services to local hospitals and move its residential rehabilitation program to Queens under a new proposal.
