Star Student Athlete: Southampton Player Believes In Inclusivity

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

Soccer, volleyball, lacrosse

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

Cameron has a 99.7 GPA; was the captain of the middle school soccer team and led them to an undefeated season as center defense; plays travel soccer; and plays on her school volleyball and lacrosse teams. Cameron is known as the team's biggest cheerleader, always supporting her teammates. In addition, she is a member of the Junior National Honor Society.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

She is a very inclusive and supportive teammate. She wants everyone to feel like they are part of the team and to feel good about their contributions.
