Stolen Items Found In Bridgehampton Woman's Car During Arrest: PD
She was caught with stolen items after driving without a license, registration or insurance, police say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Bridgehampton woman who was caught driving with a suspended license and registration is now also facing a felony charge after stolen items were found in her vehicle, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, on March 23 at about 10:21 a.m., a patrol officer conducted
a traffic stop on a woman in a black Cadillac Escalade traveling eastbound on Upper Seven Ponds Road in Southampton.

The vehicle had an expired inspection sticker, police said. Latricia C. Hires, 32, was driving with a suspended New York State driver’s license, a suspended vehicle registration, and without valid
insurance, police said. Additionally, an active warrant for her arrest had been issued by the Suffolk County Police Department, police said.
While officials were impounding the vehicle, items that did not belong to Hires were located inside, police said.

Those items were secured by officers, pending further investigation, police said. Hires was
subsequently arrested and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor; suspended/ revoked registration, a misdemeanor; and failure to surrender suspended
license/registration, a misdemeanor, along with other traffic violations, police said.
Hires was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Southampton Town Justice Court, then transferred to the custody of the Suffolk County Police Department, police said.
Next, following an investigation conducted by the Southampton Town Police Department's patrol division, it was determined that the items recovered from Hires’s vehicle were reported stolen in a separate incident within Suffolk County, police said.
As a result, Hires was arrested on April 11 and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, police said.
Hires was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear before the Southampton Town
Justice Court at a later date, police said.
