Summer Lawn Concert At The Parrish Art Museum, Friday June 6

Continuing its Sounds of Summer outdoor live music series featuring a diverse selection of accomplished bands and ensembles, the Parrish Art Museum presents the five-piece reggae and steel drum group, The Next Level Band, on Friday, June 6. The casual Sounds of Summer concerts are held outside on the terrace, Fridays from 6–8pm. General admission is $10, free for Museum members.

The Next Level Band, which performs throughout the tri-state area, features an eclectic group of musicians from the United States, the Caribbean, and Europe, playing authentic reggae favorites as well as their own calypso-infused arrangements of classics. At the core of the Next Level Band is the husband/wife team of guitarist/steel drum virtuoso Tyrone Parris from Barbados, and vocalist La Dawn Parris who has performed with Anita Baker, Oleta Adams, The Temptations, and Doc Powell, among many others. The duo has 25 years of performing and recording experience.

Guests at Sounds of Summer concerts are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets for the Terrace and the Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley Foundation Event Lawn. Refreshments are available for purchase at the Museum’s café. All concerts are free with Museum admission.
