Woman Arrested After Driving Drunk, Leaving Scene Of Westhampton Crash: Police

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — An Alabama woman was arrested after driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a crash in Westhampton Wednesday, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at 10:37 p.m. in the vicinity of Sweetgrass Road and Jagger Lane. A damaged vehicle was located not far from the crash location, police said.

Jennifer Gambino, 44, was found to have operated the motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition; Gambino was arrested and transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing, and held for morning arraignment, police said.

Gambino was charged with misdemeanor DWI; resisting arrest, a misdemeanor; and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, an infraction, police said.
