Beryl's Impact Could Extend Into The Hudson Valley
Meanwhile, heat and air advisories have been extended. Here are the details.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — High temperatures and smoggy air increase the chances of illness for vulnerable people Tuesday as heat indices top 100 degrees across most of the region, the National Weather Service said.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening. Localized flash flooding is possible.
Forecasters and emergency management planners are monitoring the potential for thunderstorms and rainfall associated with Hurricane Beryl beginning Tuesday night and extending into Thursday for much of upstate New York.

Beryl will continue to be a prolific heavy rain producer as it pushes northeastward, the NWS said.
Rainfall amounts of up to 2-3” across the Mohawk Valley, southern Adirondacks, and upper Hudson Valley may lead to isolated to scattered flash flooding.

"The majority of the moisture with Beryl is projected to stay well north of our region," said the folks at Hudson Valley Weather. "Because Beryl likely misses to our north, don’t expect a big break from the heat until possibly the weekend (or in the wake of a scattered afternoon T-Storm)."
