Cold Front First, Flurries Follow: Hudson Valley Forecast
Here's the latest on the first week of spring.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — An Arctic cold front is due to hit the region Wednesday afternoon, with rain, plummeting temperatures and gusty winds.
While the showers will blow through overnight, they'll leave cold and blustery weather starting Thursday.
"Any wet left on the roads likely turns to black ice if it doesn’t dry," Bruce Furbeck of First Due Weather said on Facebook. "Your car doors will have a strong possibility of being frozen by tomorrow morning if you park outside, tonight."

Friday night and Saturday there's a chance of snow flurries across the Hudson Valley, even for southern Westchester — along with heavy rain.

That's because two storms — one near the Canada border and one from the Gulf — will converge on the Atlantic coast for the start of the first official weekend of spring 2024, said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.
"The southern storm will likely end up being the stronger of the two systems as the merge begins, and that will trigger a northward expansion of drenching rain with increasing winds, building seas and rough surf," he said. "Coastal flooding during high tide is possible along the mid-Atlantic coast."
Then temps will begin to climb back toward spring.
