Danbury Man Faces Charges In New York: Putnam County Sheriff
Sheriff's deputies investigating after a traffic stop said they learned he had a revoked NY driver's license and found a handgun.
PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — A Danbury, Connecticut resident is accused of driving in New York with a revoked license and a handgun without a permit, Sheriff Kevin J. McConville reported.
Sheriff's deputies said they saw a vehicle northbound on Route 22 near the I-684 interchange with an obscured rear license plate at about 1:15 a.m. June 25.
During the ensuing traffic stop, the driver, identified as Mathew Conti, 27, was found to have a revoked NY driver's license from 2017, deputies alleged.

Also, a handgun was discovered inside the vehicle, for which he had no permit to possess in New York State, deputies alleged.
Conti was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a class C felony, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd Degree. He was arraigned in Patterson Town Court and ROR'd to appear for a future court date.
