Flood Warning For Orange, Putnam

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — At 841 AM, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across Orange and western Putnam County.

Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 inch in 1 hour.

Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area.

Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly, the National Weather Service said.

Parts of Orange County have already been hit hard, overnight thunderstorms drenched the region and left many without power.
