Get Ready: Putnam's Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Drop-Off Day

You can safely get rid of fluorescent bulbs, bug spray and weed killer, oven and upholstery cleaners, hair spray and dyes, paint and more.

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — It's spring-cleaning time, and Putnam County will help residents dispose of hazardous waste again this year.

It's such a popular service that officials have extended it to four hours instead of three.

The drop-off event at Fahnestock State Park is for pre-registered residents. What can you get rid of? A lot.
