'Hold-In-Place' Alarm For Brewster Schools Accidentally Tripped Monday

As a precautionary measure, law enforcement swept all Brewster district school buildings.

BREWSTER, NY — A “hold-in-place” alarm for the Brewster Central School District was tripped accidentally Monday morning.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said it received the alarm notification at 8:40 a.m. Monday.

As a precautionary measure, members of the sheriff’s office and the New York State Police conducted a sweep of all Brewster district school buildings.

The sheriff’s office said, at this time, the alarm is considered an accidental activation and no threat exists.
