
Staff members at the , along with those at other Putnam libraries, are encouraging residents to come together for a reading initiative.
From Sept. 15 to Dec. 31, local folks will be reading The Great Gatsby, the American classic by F. Scott Fitzgerald that tells a story of lavish lifestyle and love during the Roaring Twenties.
"Look for a variety of Gatsby-inspired events across the county this fall including book discussions and a Great Gatsby Reading with the Brewster Theater Company," the library's website states.

Putnam County Reads, an organization dedicated to getting "all of Putnam County reading," is organizing the project. Nine organizations throughout the area are involved.
