Obituary: Brett J. Holliday, Brewster HS Class of '79

Brett J. Holliday passed away unexpectedly at his mother’s home in Brewster, NY, Wednesday December 6, 2023, at the age of 62.

Brett was born December 23, 1960, in Yonkers, NY son of Dympna B. (Powers) Holliday and the late Herbert R. Holliday. He graduated from Brewster High School Class of 1979.

Brett was a self-employed general contractor in Brewster and was a true craftsman who worked on many homes and businesses in the area and for many friends. He was a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster and served as an Usher at the 11:00 am mass on Sundays, he was a member of the Brewster Elks Lodge, he loved his dog Wolf and his classic car, Ford Torino GT 428 Cobra Jet.

Brett is survived by his wife Stacey, sons Brett, Cody and Connor Holliday all of Brewster, NY; brothers Colin Holliday and his wife Rosebeth of John’s Island, SC, Kevin Holliday and his wife Deborah of Sherman, CT; sisters Sheila Holliday of Brewster, NY and Megan Bijou and her husband Anthony of Pawling, NY; nieces and nephews Ciara Lowery, Afton Lowery, Paris Knibbe, Tom Holliday, Emma Bijou and Reece Bijou. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Holliday.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 13, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster. The interment will take place at a later date. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday December 12, 2023, at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
