Obituary: Brewster Community Member Dies

Waltenberg, Elizabeth L. ‘Libby,’ age 66, of Brewster, died Wednesday at her home.

Libby was born on Nov. 29, 1945 in North Salem, to Curtis and Florence (Conklin) Hill. She graduated from North Salem Schools.

Libby married Robert ‘Bob’ Waltenberg on July 16, 1966 in North Salem. Bob died earlier this year on Feb. 29.

For more than 20 years, Libby worked at the in Brewster. During that time one would find Libby within the cafeteria and later the attendance office. She was a special aid volunteer with the reading program at the middle school earlier.

Libby enjoyed knitting, animals and her crafts, which kept her very busy. Family, above all, was most important to Libby.

Libby is survived by her two children, Robert Waltenberg Jr. of West Town, and Pam Waltenberg of Pleasant Valley; a brother, Curtis Hill; and a sister, Dorothy Engle, both of Coldwater, OH. Also, three grandchildren: Kyle, Sidney and Brianna.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Lily Pond Stables (321 Skidmore Road in Pleasant Valley). A private cremation was held earlier. The  (1 Putnam Avenue in Brewster) will be assisting the family.
