Obituary: Edward L. Cartossa Sr.

Edward L. Cartossa Sr., passed away at home in Danbury, CT, Wednesday December 27, 2023, at the age of 84.

Edward was born August 15, 1939, in Bronx, NY, son of the late Louis and Antonette (Fillapella) Cartossa. After graduating High School, he joined the Air Force and served from 1958 to 1962. When he returned from the service, he started his career at New York State Electric and Gas as a lineman. He retired in 1988 after thirty-five years from the Brewster Yard.

Edward was loved by his children and grandchildren, he loved his time in the Air Force, making friends with all kinds of animals and was an avid fisherman and woodworker.

Edward is survived by his five children, Edward L. Cartossa Jr. and his wife Lisa of Holt, MO, Sandra Marie Lucas and her husband John of San Francisco, CA, Michael R. Cartossa and his wife Debbie of New Fairfield, CT, Michael J. Cartossa of Port St. Lucie, FL, Samantha Ramos and her husband Jose of Vero Beach, FL; five grandchildren Jessica, Lauren and Michael Cartossa, Cash Lucas and Olivia Ramos. He was predeceased by his two sisters.

Calling hours will take place on Thursday January 4, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY. The interment will take place at a later date.
