Obituary: Maybelle H. Shannon of Brewster

Maybelle H. Shannon of Brewster, NY, passed away Thursday April 18, 2024, in Danbury, CT, at the age of 90.

Maybelle was born May 9, 1933, in Lyndon Center, Vermont, daughter of the late Leon and Doris (Lang) Hopkins. She graduated from Lyndon Institute in Lyndon Center in 1951, then received her Registered Nursing degree from Laconia Hospital School of Nursing in Laconia, NH. On April 4, 1959, she married John Shannon in Lyndon Center. They moved to Brewster, NY in 1969. Maybelle worked at Danbury Hospital as an RN for ten years, then she worked as an office manager for Preferred Health Care in Danbury.

Maybelle was predeceased by her husband John in 2008. She is survived by her daughters Lynne Bonavenia and her husband Angelo of Pawling, NY and Brenda Clemente and her husband George of Pawling, NY; son John Shannon of Wingdale, NY; sister Leone Gale of Lyndon Center, VT; grandchildren Ashley, Shannon, Michael and great grandchildren Jayce, Declan and Adalee.
