Raymond Majette Sr., loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, of Patterson, NY, passed away on April 27th, 2024, at the age of 72, after an arduous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
The youngest of 9 children, Raymond was born on August 24, 1951, in Ahoskie, North Carolina, son of the late Archie and Cora (Grant) Maggett Sr., of Rich Square, NC. Raymond attended Rich Square Schools, before moving to join his siblings and family in Dutchess County, NY, where his first son, Raymond Jr. (b. 1975), was born. Later on, he met the love of his life, Madeline Gorenflo, with whom he gained a bonus son, Alan Bennett (b. 1972). Raymond and Madeline had two daughters together, Nichole (b. 1979) and Trista (b. 1985) before marrying each other in a loving ceremony at home in Patterson, NY on August 30, 1986.

Raymond was a truck driver for Teamsters Local 191, driving for Randano Inc. in Norwalk, CT for twenty-five years, retiring in 2019. Before driving for the Union, he spent many years driving over the road. Raymond loved watching sports with his friends and family, pouring over stats in the daily newspaper, horse racing, bowling, camping and, most of all, spending time with his family.
Along with his wife Madeline, Raymond is survived by his four children: Alan (Sandra Geotze) Bennett of Coral Springs, FL, Raymond (Jennifer) Majette Jr. of Sharon, CT, Nichole Majette of Manchester, CT, Trista (Michael) Majette-Torres of Brooklyn, NY; sisters: Lucille Merritt of Wingdale, NY, Lizzie Barber of Durham, NC, Thelma (James) Jefferson of Dover, DE, Cora (Harry Sr.) Ford of Wingdale, NY; brothers: Charles Majette of Rich Square, NC and Rudolph (Willie Seal) Majette of Wingdale, NY; sister in law Sarah Majette of Wingdale, NY; grandchildren: Raymond Majette III, Terran Whelton, Anthony Raymond Majette, Maddie Majette, Cameron Majette, Jade Jones, Matt Jones, Braydon Majette, Raymond Azaire Majette-Torres; great grandson, Nash Whelton and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother and father, brothers, Archie Majette Jr. and James Majette, and niece, Diane Majette.
