Overnight Spring Snow Showers Will Cover Parts Of The Hudson Valley

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of the region with snow forecast to fall after midnight.

In Westchester and Rockland counties, rain will turn to snow and sleet in the early morning hours, with accumulations of about an inch, before turning back to rain before noon, but up to 5 inches is expected in some parts of the region.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Hopefully, April snow showers will also bring May flowers to the region, because the weather is due to take a turn after midnight in the Hudson Valley.

The National Weather Service has issued Winter Weather Advisories for parts of Putnam, Orange, Ulster and Dutchess counties with snow showers expected to start just after midnight to the north. In Putnam, rain will change over to snow by 2 a.m., according to the NWS.

Total snow accumulations of up to 5 inches are expected in some areas with locally higher amounts at higher altitudes.

The precipitation will then go back over to all rain by mid-morning, but will linger a little longer to the North.
