The mountain was packed with hikers from all Westchester, Putnam and New York City.
We took the white trail up the mountain, starting at the parking lot located on the south side of the tunnel on Route 9D by the Metro-North train station. We climbed over 900 feet in about half of a mile, continued another 100 feet up, reaching a total ascent of about 1,000 feet. We then made our way down, using the yellow and then red trails. The full hike took about two hours, including stops for photos and to admire the wildlife and fall foliage. The total distance was about 2.2 miles.
