Search For Missing Person Ends With Discovery Of Body In A Hudson Valley Woods

BREWSTER, NY — The hunt for a missing person has come to a tragic ending in a wooded area in Putnam County.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says that an investigation into a missing person has concluded with the discovery of a body.

On Monday, around 5:47 p.m., the Putnam County Sheriff's Office received a report of a missing person. Deputies and investigators then attempted to locate the person.

On Tuesday, around 8:40 a.m., a body was found in a wooded area in the area of Eastview Court, in the Village of Brewster.

The Sheriff's Office says that the identity of the person is being withheld until family members are notified.

Although the cause and manner of death have not yet been determined, the Sheriff's Office says that there seems to be no indication of foul play, and the incident appears to be isolated. However, the investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
