If you love animals, please join the Putnam Arts Council as we partner with the Putnam County SPCA to raise much needed funds to help animals in need.
ANIMAL MAGNETISM is a theme show that is open to everyone! There is no age limit, you do not have to be a member of the Putnam Arts Council, you do not have to have any art experience, and you don’t even have to live in Putnam County. The show is open to everyone from everywhere! All funds raised through the show’s entry fees will go directly to benefit the Putnam County SPCA!

Each participant can enter up to 4 pieces, no larger than 36″x36″ in any direction; we will accept framed and unframed works. If your work is framed, it must be wired and ready to hang and cannot exceed 36×36″ including the frame.
Entries can be in any medium you chose! So, grab your paints, cameras, prints, crayons, mixed media, and collage materials and/or sculpting tools and start creating! If your work is 3D, it must be manageable by one person.
The entry fees are as follows: $15 for 3 pieces and $20 for 4 pieces. The entry fees for children under 12 will be waived.
Images of all animals are welcome – domestic animals, animal companions, farm animals, wild animals, and animals from your imagination are all accepted and welcomed! animals from your imagination.
ANIMAL MAGNETISM will open on Saturday, April 9 from 1p – 4p. in the A. Eric Arctander Gallery at the Putnam Arts Council. Chief Ross and Detective Sergeant Ross of the Putnam County SPCA will attend the opening to speak about the Putnam County SPCA and answer questions. The show will also be open on Sunday, April 10 from 1-4pm. There is no admission to visit the gallery, it is free of charge.
And…there will be a $100 Animal Magnetism Friend Award!
The drop off dates for your artwork are Saturday, April 2 from 12p – 3p and Sunday, April 3 from 12p – 3p to the Putnam Arts Council, 521 Kennicut Hill Road, Mahopac, 10541.
Please make certain that all the necessary information…title, your name, price, or NFS if your work is Not for Sale is on the back of each piece (use a label or sticky note). A submission form will be provided when you drop off your work.
If your work is for sale and sells there will be a reduced commission of 25% which will go to PAC. It is up to you what percentage you would like to donate to the Putnam County SPCA.
You will be able to pick up your work after the benefit on Sunday, April 10, from 4:15p – 6p and on Saturday, April 16, from 1p – 4p.
As much as we love animals they will not be allowed in the Gallery during the Benefit.
So, join in the fun as we acknowledge the Putnam County SPCA officers and show our love and caring for all animals!

To keep our community of artists, students, and all visitors safe, everyone must always wear a mask and must be vaccinated or have proof of a negative COVID test in the prior 72 hours. Medical and religious exceptions are acceptable.

Programs of the Putnam Arts Council are supported, in part, with public funds from Putnam County and with public funds from New York State Council on the Arts, with support of the NYS Governor and the State Legislature.
