Reward More Than Triples For Info About Cat Shooting In Patterson
Kiwi, an orange tabby, was shot in Patterson sometime around Aug. 20.

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — The New York State Humane Association, working with the Putnam County SPCA, is offering an additional $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for shooting Kiwi, a 3-year-old neutered orange Tabby cat in Patterson, around Aug. 20.
"The individual/s responsible for this cruel crime must be brought to justice," said Patricia Valusek, chairperson of the New York State Humane Association.
Kiwi appeared to have been shot with an airgun pellet firearm in the vicinity of Bullet Hole Road, Fair Street or Highview Drive. The cat sustained a serious, painful injury — the metal projectile entered his abdomen, and must be surgically removed, SPCA officials said.
