Southeast Family Accused Of Keeping Pets In Filthy Conditions
The SPCA removed the animals and arrested three family members.
SOUTHEAST, NY — A Southeast family of three are accused of subjecting their pets to filthy and unhealthy living conditions on Joes Hill Road.
The Putnam County SPCA announced the arrests of of Tara Wuchter, 57, Dennis Wuchter, 61, and Kyle Wuchter, 24. SPCA officials alleged their three pets — a 4-year-old black male cat, a 4-year-old tabby male cat, and one 4-year-old white and brindle male pit bull — were found living in filthy, unhealthy, hoarding conditions amongst piles of garbage and trash.
The animals were removed, and transported to Guardian Veterinary Specialists in Southeast where they were examined and held until foster care can be found.

Each member of the Wuchter family was charged with three counts of animal cruelty. They are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Southeast town court.
"The condition of the living environment, in which these animals were housed, was unfit for both human and animal," SPCA Chief Ken Ross said.
