HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

Grant Assistant
A volunteer is needed to assist with finding grant opportunities for various programs and case management services in the areas of food insecurity, homelessness, housing, benefits advocacy, and criminal justice. The volunteer's hours are flexible (averaging 2-3 hours per week). This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to enter the field of grant writing. Volunteer must be 21+.

Male Model for Live Figure Painting Class
A male volunteer is needed to serve as a model for a live figure painting art class. The model must be 18 years or older, will be fully clothed, must be dressed in dapper attire in any combination of the colors red, black, or white, and ready to put on a smile for an audience of women ages 60+. The model must be able to sit and pose in a still position for 45 to 60 minutes. No prior experience is required!

Event Photographer
NAMI Westchester is looking for a photographer to help take photographs during its annual Volunteer Appreciation and Membership Meeting event. The photographer will be snapping both posed and candid/action shots to help memorialize the events. Photo credit will be provided as per the photographer's request.

Rosh Hashanah Package Delivery
DOROT’s Rosh Hashanah Package Delivery brings hundreds of older adults and volunteers together to share warmth and companionship. Volunteers are needed to deliver a thoughtful, seasonal care package and connect with an older neighbor.

Million Meals Project Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to help Shames JCC prepare for the Jewish New Year by joining the Million Meal Project. Volunteers will help pack nutritious meal kits that Rise Against Hunger can then distribute to food-insecure communities in need. This is a family- and group-friendly project.
